Lisa Pierce, M.A., MFT provides psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, couples and families.  Using an individualized approach to the unique needs of each client, Lisa incorporates multiple modalities in her work, such as psychodynamic and insight-oriented approaches, humanistic therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and restorative hypnotherapy.  She believes it is essential to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic environment for her clients.  

Lisa provides treatment for depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, relationship issues, sleep disorders, stress, and trauma, as well as life transitions, such as divorce, career changes and postpartum issues.  Lisa also specializes in couples therapy; she helps couples navigate the full range of challenges that they will face over time, such as premarital issues, intimacy, collaborative parenting, in-laws, and revitalizing the relationship.

Lisa’s goals include helping her clients to identify dysfunctional and negative patterns in their lives and become aware of the underlying root of sabotaging behavior, as well as helping them to identify and access suppressed emotions and challenge negative thought patterns.  Lisa’s clients appreciate her genuine commitment and heartfelt care for their wellbeing, and her goal is to support them in making a positive, transformative change in their lives.

Lisa received her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1991.  She went on to attend Pepperdine University to earn her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 2004.  After graduating, Lisa gained experience and earned her clinical hours toward licensure providing therapy in various internships; including an outpatient treatment facility for substance abuse and chemical dependency, a community-based counseling center, and a residential treatment facility for adolescent girls with eating disorders.  Lisa became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2007.  Lisa completed Restorative Hypnotherapy training in 2019.
